Teen Faced Jail Time for Yelling Bingo?

Don't mess with a hall full of Bingo players and pull an unthinkable stunt and shout out B-I-N-G-O as a prank!

 

An 18 year old teen in Covington, Ky yelled Bingo as a joke and the nobody in the hall was laughing. When the crowd got angry a police officer ordered the teen to apologize and when he refused handcuffed him and threw him in jail!

 

The young man faced 90 days in jail and a $250 fine. When it went to trial the judge instead ordered him to stay out of bingo halls and he is not allowed to say the word "bingo" for six months.

 

Something is seriously wrong with this picture don't you think?

Yes, the world is seriously out of whack and whack all at the same time.  My family came here from Kentucky, and you betcha there is hell to pay when you try to mess with someone's bingo or their concentration on winning.  Heck, if it was a hall where there are a lot of elderly, some might have heart attacks and others may come at you with a civil war sword. 

 

Disturbing the peace of bingo players.  Well, I never!

 

It's like yelling "BOMB" at the airport.  Don't even think about it.

I heard about this too. He was actually a security staff member at the bingo hall. I think this entire thing is crazy. Yeah, at the moment I'm sure it was annoying. Some snotty nose young man yelling out bingo and stopping the game. But geeze jail time, fines and bingo bans? On second thought, maybe he did deserve it. LOL

That was funny and annoying at the same time. I feel annoyed when someone else is a deserving winner... I can only imagine how I would react if someone shouts out Bingo just for fun.

It was a rather bad joke but still, going to jail for something like this is absurd. Luckily the judge assessed the situation correctly, I agree with the decision.
