Hiya LBB'ers,
It took a year for justice to be served for Margaret Craig, 63. She was walking home from bingo with a sweet bingo win totally £140 in Portal Crescent, Aberdeen. She was attacked by Barry Clancy 28, from behind as he grabbed her purse making out with a total of £300. He kicked her in the head and body as he knocked her to the ground and outraged locals.
Clancy appeared in court where he admitted the crimes and was jailed for 28 months. Sheriff Annella Cowan ordered a six-month supervised release order after Clancy's release.
The Judge referred to Clancy as a menace to society with no other choice but to impose a custodial sentence. He also said that while there is no comfort to Mrs Craig, it would hopefully act as a deterrent.
Do you think justice was served in this case or was the sentencing too stiff/light of a penalty?
