Evilness Prevails Over Bingo
It takes all kinds of people to pull acts of just down right meanness but this takes the cake.
A vandal has gone around town and stamped “bingo closed” on posters and also tearing down signs for a charitable cause in a deliberate attempt to destroy it.
A good hearted Samaritan, David Turton, 64, has raised more then £700 for charities at Ashperton Village Hall on regular bingo nights. The proceeds have gone to organizations like Air Ambulance and the Royal British Legion.
Unfortunately Mr. Truton has decided to cancel charity bingo fund raisers due to vandalism that has worked against all his efforts after having only a handful of bingo players showing up on September 21st. The poor turn out ended up costing him out of pocket expenses in excess of £600.
“I’m absolutely disgusted by what has happened,” he added. “It’s left me out of pocket and it means there will be no more money to benefit the charities. I was left with no choice. I’m a carer for my wife and we only have our benefits allowance to live on, so I just cannot afford to keep losing money like this.
It’s a real shame. Everyone who has come along has always had a good evening and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
In an effort to recoup his losses he plans on selling his bingo machine and equipment on ebay.
Why would anyone plot and scheme something so mean?
