    How Bingo all began....

     

    Bingo dates back to 1530 in Italy. It was a “lottery” game called “Lo Giuoco Code Lotto”. It became popular in the 1700’s in France. By the 1800 Germany used bingo as a means to educate children. Spelling, muliplication tables and animal names were taught by playing bingo.

     

    Bingo made its debut in Atlanta Ga. In 1929 at a local carnival. Then called Beano using beans and and a rubber stamp and card board sheets. Edwin Lowe seeing the interest is stirred up went to New York where he introduced the game. One night an excited winner yelled B-I-N-G-O instead of  “BEANO” and the rest is history!!

     

    Bingo is still making history with over 60 million bingo players all over the world!! That’s a lot of bingo balls!!!
