  • Hi LBB'ers,

The Daily Mirror posted some tips for bingo players and one of them pertains to the number of cards played. They recommend 3-4 cards at once but surely this is for land based bingo. One can't really managed more than that in a 90-ball game.

Do you play the maximum number of cards online or stick to a lower limit? In the land based bingo halls how many cards can you manage. I can't keep track of more than 2 for 90-ball and I can handle a bit more for 75-ball games. Do you think your odds are better if you play more cards?

  • I know this is probably a really silly question, but I seriously cannot get my head around the attraction of online bingo... you can play as many cards as you can afford of course, because the computer will mark off each of your hits automatically, and to me that seems to be both a great convenience, and an enormous problem.. it basically leaves the player nothing to do! Yet some people are absolutely hooked on this ??? I dont understand ?! :S

  • I only play online bingo since there are no bingo halls here. I most often choose to play with the maximum number of cards; it depends on how much money I have.

@wscalley - Sure, some people don't find anything interesting about bingo, but waiting for your numbers to be called is; especially with bigger prizes - the anticipation is great, and of course there's always a chance to win big jackpots. And also, there's a possibility to chat with other players.

  • I agree Markotik. Online bingo players are still engaged in the game as the numbers are called. There are also side games, special themes and plenty to keep you busy. One could say the same thing about slots. Really, all you do is hit a button over and over. It's the potential for a win that makes it exciting, right. That's why it's called gambling.

  • I do play bingo, though not as often as casino games, thats for sure. From my point of view, there are 2 main reasons why I play it: its more engaging than slots and its cheaper fun (or to be more precise you can squeeze much longer playtimes with a small deposit comparing to slots for example).

Indeed, both in slots and in bingo you just press the button and the game goes on, but still, bingo has a social component that slots lack, and there is also some strategy involved in how much cards will you purchase. That leads me to froggy's initial question. I think purchasing a single card is wrong way to play online, at least it proved wrong for me as I never won a cent from single card purchase, odds are simply too low. Buying maximum number of cards maximizes odds but most of the time that what you win does not justify such strategy and also it can be quite expensive. Lately I stick with purchasing half of the maximum number of cards (plus those that I get for free if available), thats what did the best for me so far.

  • I typically purchase the maximum number of cards but I will go with half the max amount on occasion. It is much cheaper than slots depending on ticket prices etc. but throw in the slots and mini games and you could be in trouble LOL

I also agree about the social factor. That was one thing that was very cool on the former Jackpot Party casino. The chat function was there and players could engage in conversation and congratulated each other on jackpot wins.

  • I usually just play 3 cards in live bingo. Online I will buy the max. But that don't seems to work out to good either. Bingo maybe not my thing. ;)

  • Whilst your odds don't increase as far as any individual card is concerned, the more you buy the more likely you are to get a win of some kind - I guess its the same as 1 spin or 10 on a slot or how many scratchcards you choose to buy.

Since making my comment above I discovered that one person I had in the front of my mind as a real online bingo addict actually spends most of her time on the slots whilst letting the bingo kind of run itself and chatting with other players... all that being the case, I can certainly understand how she has got herself into deep water with it. I'm just the same with my Poker and its side games...

  • I usually play in bingo halls and I play at the max 2 cards. I really can't manage more than that.
