    A bingo player's husband takes her to Gala Bingo Hall in Erdington, Birmingham. A huge metal barrier comes crashing down on his car shattering his windshield. The 80 year old man suffered head injuries and fractured his eye socket.

    This could of very well been a fatal accident. Needless to say Gala was fined £25,000 for not having a pad lock on the gate that was removed and never replaced.

     

    Is this good luck he survived or bad luck that it happened at all? What do you think?

    I've wondered about things like that. It definitely depends on the injuries sustained and if the money is worth it. Was it worth 25k to fracture your eye socket? Hmm, for me heck yeah! LOL

    I think he was lucky to survive, the car looks pretty banged up.

    Playing the odds- it's probably more likely you'll make money in a car crash than to win the PJP at Gala Bingo.

    I am not sure what the driver got compensated. The 25k was the fine the bingo hall had to pay that isn't what went to the victim!

    I would say that he's lucky to survive, it could have been very tragic, easily.
