  • Hiya bingo buds,

If you like poker and are in the mood for something different you might want to give Pai Gow Poker a whirl.

Pai Gow Poker is a variation of  the Chinese Pai Gow dominoes. It's played one on one with the dealer. A 53 card deck is used and players are dealt 7 cards.

What makes Pai Gow Poker different from traditional poker is that players divide their cards into two rankings - 5 card and two cards. This gives players two chances to win with two sets of cards on the table.

Bingo Flash is having a weekly Pai Gow Tourney all month long in September.

    Has anyone ever played?

    Good Luck,

    Lips

  • I have played dominoes but not this kind of poker. Sounds interesting though.

  • Hey Lips... I learned PaiGow at a land casino years ago... now I play it almost everyday online... it is pretty simple once you learn it and if you don't try to complicate it in your mind... The description you gave pretty much hits all you need to know... except the 5 card hand must be better than the 2 card hand when you split your hand into 2 hands. And PaiGow is one of the only casino games I've played that takes a rake on each hand that does not end in a push.,,  :-bd Have fun and good luck to anyone joining in the tournaments!  8)

  • I've played dominoes but not Pai Gow. I've got to learn to play now.

katt, were they patient with you when you were learning in the land casino?

Yes, they were wonderfully patient and worked with me on it until I got it... lots of times the PaiGow tables are not busy and that is a great time to step up and learn to play.

Some of the online casinos have a "House Way" feature... this means that the house will tell you which way to split your hand for the best result. If you don't have a completely winning hand (both the 5 card and 2 card have to be better than the dealers hands) you want to have one of them win so you get a push. You get a lot of pushes, but that is just like a free "do over," you keep your money and they don't take the rake in that case.

  • This is a good promotion. Pai Gow is one of my fav games. You've got to learn to play feelin froggy. I never played it at a bingo site but I suppose i could give it a whirl.

  • Very nice pointers Katt thanks for that!  :-bd

  • Nice promo Lips but I have to admit that I don't recall every playing this game.

Thanks for the tips Katt.  Time to learn this game me thinks.
