  • Hi Bingo Tarts!

When I play bingo I will skip a game based on the prize pool. Sure free bingo is awesome sometimes but when I'm playing to win, I will pass on rooms featuring prizes of less than a certain amount. If it doesn't at least exceed $5 forget it but ideally I prefer to play in rooms with a minimum of a $25 prize. What's your threshold when choosing a room to play in?

  • I usually don't have a lower limit, sometimes I'm happy just to cover an amount I pay for tickets. :( But I feel most comfortable playing for the prize pools between $10 and $50. I also won around $100 a few times but that happens very rare. I usually focus on how many players there are; if there's too much players my hopes aren't too high. Maybe I should change my perspective and believe more. :)

  • for me it also depends on the number of people playing.  I get frustrated when this number somehow rises *after* the last call to buy tickets.  But maybe that's when they add in the pre-buys.

If there is little competition, I don't mind playing for even less than a dollar.  I don't often play for the really big prizes because there's little chance to win, more of a chance that it will be shared between several players.  But if it's a large prize and less than 30 people playing, I'll take a shot.

  • That's an interesting question froggy. You would think i would put the prize pool at priority but the  major things i look at when choosing a bingo room is the ticket price, number of players in the room and if there is any specials like BOGOF first.

I don't mind building up a small nest egg letting it grow hopefully into a big one!

  • I think you're absolutely right chilly, I think the pre-buys are added in once ticket sales close. I definitely look for all the specials too and how many players are in the room. It's a tough call but I hate when the prize doesn't even cover the bet. Sometimes that happens when you buy early with 3 or 4 minutes until game time and you think the ticket sales will increase, then it doesn't. :(

  • There are a couple of sites where I really like to play their slots but need cash.  So, if I have a LOT of bonus money, I'll play in their dime room even though there is nobody else playing and I get about 60 cents in cash back for winning from a dollar.  it's not a bad return, and sometimes others join in and one of us can actually make a little profit.

We are talking some serious low-budget playing here.  Oh, but there is also a jackpot in that room so sometime somebody (me?) could win a jackpot and really do well for their small change.

  • Yes, I forgot about the ticket prices but for me, it also depends how much money I have. Considering that I'm careful how I spend my money I usually play in the rooms with cheaper ticket prices.

  • The jackpot amount is definitely a factor too chilly. When it's a good one and the tickets are cheap, you can't go wrong playing for it.

  • cheapest at the Cyberbingo and related sites in the Tourney Room on a Friday night- $1000 for... FREE.  Why do I always forget to go there on Fridays?  Silly me.

  • Im satisfied to win anything above my bet expenses. Still trying to find optimal balance between the prize, number of tickets I purchase and ticket prices. Would like to know what you girls think about it, since you likely have lot more bingo experience than me.

  • Cheap tickets and not too many players - if I see that, then I don't mind what the prize is.  Although having said that, some prizes can be deceptive if they are split over 5 winning chances i.e. 1 line, 2 lines, 3 lines etc.

  • I sort of feel cheated when it is a high pot and I bingo!  but then it is split between many more players so the total is barely what I paid for the tickets.

  • I just played in a game where the prize was 37 bucks or so and it cost me $12 to buy the max tickets. I'd say that's a fair return if you win and I'd spend more than $12 spinning on slots in the time it takes to play an entire game of bingo. I like a fair amount of players in the room otherwise there's no one to drive up the prizes with tickets sales. On the other hand there can be way too many players. The popular bingo sites tend to have a ridiculous amount of players 200+ or even 600+ if you're playing free bingo.

  • Lately, it doesn't really matter how big the prize pools are. Right now any prize would be appreciated. Phew, some bingo sites have "one to go winners". :D

  • I'm with you mark! I can't win at all lately. Those 1tg games have saved my life more than once. :)
