SPICED WINE

100g light muscovado sugar

2 oranges; zest pared, juice squeezed from one,

the other cut into chunks

2 cinnamon sticks, broken in half.

little freshly grated nutmeg

1 x 75cl bottle light red wine

1 apple, quartered, cored & thickly sliced

1. Put the sugar, orange zest, juice & chunks, cinnamon and nutmeg in a pan with 300ml/1⁄2pt water and bring to the boil.

2. Simmer for 10 mins to infuse the spices, then add the wine and apple slices and bring to a simmer. Serve in heatproof glasses. ENJOY!

RECIPE

Want a slice of Royal Wedding Cake?  I've hunted down Will's fave cake recipe for my fantabulous Roomies!

Ingredients

150g plain chocolate

150g butter

2 large tbsp golden syrup

225g crushed digestive biscuits

25g hazelnuts or almonds toasted and chopped (optional)

Method

1. Melt the chocolate, butter and syrup in a saucepan at a very low heat (try not to eat the mixture at this point!)

2. Stir in the biscuits and nuts (if using) until well blended and spread into a cake tin

3. Refrigerate for a couple of hours until well set then cut into pieces and enjoy!

This should last for about 2 weeks in the fridge... It'll be scoffed well before then!
