Buzz Bingo Achieves £200,000 Fundraising Milestone for Stroke Association

Buzz Bingo has successfully reached its ambitious three-year fundraising target of £200,000 (approximately $268,000) for the Stroke Association, marking a significant achievement in their ongoing charity partnership. This milestone was supported by a variety of charity games and events designed to raise awareness and provide support for stroke survivors.

Throughout May 2025, during Stroke Awareness Month, Buzz Bingo hosted dedicated charity bingo sessions every Thursday on both paper and touchscreen platforms. These events alone are expected to raise an additional £30,000 beyond the original goal, with all stakes, minus prizes and taxes, donated directly to the Stroke Association. Complementing these sessions, Buzz Bingo venues sold exclusive purple and white bingo dabbers, contributing 50p from each sale to the charity. Local clubs also actively organized a wide range of fundraising activities, including bake sales, head shaves, skydives, and marathon runs.

The partnership, officially launched in December 2022 with a special event at Buzz Bingo Stratford featuring TV legend Chris Tarrant and his son, DJ Toby Tarrant, reflects Buzz Bingo’s commitment to stroke awareness and support. As a stroke survivor himself, Chris Tarrant serves as a powerful ambassador highlighting the importance of community and recovery.

Supporting Stroke Survivors Through Community Engagement

The Stroke Association is the sole UK charity dedicated to long-term assistance for stroke survivors and their families. With around 240 people suffering strokes daily in the UK, the organization emphasizes raising awareness of the often devastating social impacts of stroke, including loss of hobbies, confidence, and social isolation. Recent research shows that nearly three-quarters of stroke survivors socialize less, with many experiencing loneliness and mental health challenges.

Buzz Bingo’s nationwide network of over 80 clubs and digital platforms—including popular Live Bingo and Big Money Live games—offers a welcoming space for stroke survivors to reconnect socially and rebuild confidence. The company continues to promote safer gambling practices alongside their charitable efforts.

Ongoing Commitment and Future Initiatives

Buzz Bingo’s partnership with the Stroke Association extends beyond fundraising. The company provides volunteer opportunities for staff and offers communication access training to better support those affected by stroke. Key awareness events such as Stroke Prevention Day, Stroke Awareness Month, and World Stroke Day are marked by special activities in all Buzz Bingo clubs, fostering community involvement throughout the year.

Mark Fletcher, Head of Brand Communications at Buzz Bingo, commented, “We are proud to work alongside the Stroke Association to help tackle the isolation many stroke survivors face. Our clubs provide a friendly and accessible environment where individuals can regain social connections and confidence.”
