FMIL (future mother-in-law) and I met her boyfriend at bingo yesterday. He was waiting at the table with three pints of beer. Uh oh it must be free bingo Thursday!
A birthday celebration was going on. The man was 100 years old. Balloons were all over. everyone sang Happy Birthday to him. As soon as that was over, he headed straight to the slot machines. Lots of energy he had.
The usuals were there. The little man from last time was there in the same spot. I waved at him and he looked over his shoulder. I pointed at him and waved again. His face just lit up once he realized that the hello was directed at him. Such a cute little old man.
This was the first time so far that bingo actually brought about feelings of anger for me. A few times I got close but no wins yet. I was really close to the full house at one point and a woman called it. I tell ya, I need to go confess in the Sin Bin what I was thinking. Oh well, got some pics this time. I did wait until it cleared out a little.
As I was taking my pics, one of the workers that I had met previously was asking who was in the Super Bowl this year. Now that's a sore spot with me since my Bears didn't make it. Anyway, here's where I've been playing.
The balloons are for the b-day.
Americans: you can play your bingo card electronically on these BUT you can also play slots! I was in awe and had to check these out. You still pay for these on free days though.
I would've taken more pics but I turned my attention to the Super Bowl talk. Until next time....

I wasn't planning on bingo yesterday but it was Saturday afternoon and so much bingo, so little time right? So FMIL and I hit up Gala for a quick game. Each main event book is £15. The prizes are higher than on the free days.
Once at a table that felt right, FMIL swears that I need to try the curry and chips. It's just lovely and all that. I was very skeptical but I gave it a try. Went up and bought us each a plate. I asked the lady behind the counter if many people eat this. She assured me that it is popular.
I get back to the table and it's smelling funky. My first bite was a nightmare. I tried pouring vinegar all over it. Even that didn't help it. That's what I get for eating curry at the bingo hall. FMIL figured that she must've had a few when she ate it before because her rave was definitely unfounded. We were both making the yuck face.
Let's fast forward to the last game. She wins £10 for a double line. Next thing I know, I'm yelling my first BINGO for £50 at the top of town! I got the full house! I saved my card and my little envelope of cash. When you win you get the cash in a sealed envelope. I felt so special.
Ahhh another day at bingo....

I have been going to bingo religiously! FMIL has been on quite a losing streak. She seems to think that it's the fault of the caller. She absolutely hates him. All the guy does is press a button and call the next number. He doesn't check out her numbers and skip all of them but in her mind he does. I get so embarrassed when she calls him names under her breath. The people around us can hear her. I could just die. A woman won twice and she told her to give other people a chance LOL
We went yesterday and someone poor little lady had accidentally left her cell phone on. For a minute I thought she was going to be stoned to death. People were shouting at her as she's fumbling to find it and turn it off. My goodness, I thought the yelling was more disturbing than the phone.
I haven't had much luck myself but I have been branching out into Party Bingo. That's fun but super duper fast. It's called by number and color. So the call would be "yellow 31". Usually played for a line or full house. You put coins in the machine on your table and press the claim button when you win. The boards with all your colors and numbers are at your table. This is played during breaks between bingo sessions. Some play two and three boards at once, I'm not that skilled yet. I'll get a picture for ya next time.
