Well, well, well.. Look who's back in the UK playing bingo! I had to resurrect this topic to tell you all about my latest experience. Gala Bingo was where I have always played BUT it turns out that MIL (mother-in-law) was banned so now she goes to Mecca Bingo. I took a deep breath and hoped she hadn't already stirred up trouble there.
If anyone recalls her shenanigans, she always blames the caller for her losses and shouts out "FIX". She seems to think that there's some sort of conspiracy against her.
So anyway, I was already an online member, all my details were in the system and it took no time to get my membership card.
I thought that I had a pretty good handle on the Janner accent of the South West but I got to talking to one woman that proved me wrong. People who don't understand a language always have this silly smile on their face and nod a lot because they have no idea what's being said to them and I had it. I must have asked her to repeat herself three times. All she was trying to tell me was that she loves the weather in Spain compared to the rain in England. :O
The bingo was comparable to what's offered at Gala but the prizes tend to be a bit lower. The bingo hall was actually an old movie theater, which was really cool. I've been there twice now and on my first visit I dabbed but this time I got the electronic bingo machine. One guy won 6 times and MIL was getting very worked up but luckily she didn't cause any drama.
I ended up winning two lines for £5 each. Not a big deal but it's always nice to have a win no matter how big or small.
