After-Christmas surprise for the Shaws
Even though they won big on Dec. 23, it took a lucky UK family a while to find out how much they've won – a million pound sterling on their lucky Euro Millions ticket.
Karen and Anthony Shaw bought four tickets at a local supermarket, and put them into an envelope among the Christmas presents, so the winning ticket had to wait for a couple of days to be revealed.
In a comment on the win, Karen said: "We eventually all sat down around 4pm on Christmas Day to open the presents and I remembered the tickets." She said that her son was cross-checking the numbers on his cell phone and said: "I think it's a winner!"
As per how they are to spend the money, the couple specified that some of the money will be used to buy a property to each of their children, and that they plan a luxury cruise to Alaska for the family.
