Let's take a look at Sun Bingo. They were mascot'less forever until they introduced Bubbles. Where's Bubbles now? She's been cut. To describe her in the simplest terms, Bubbles was a woman slash fairy godmother that had bubbles all over her head and wore a red dress. Was she cute? Not particularly.
Bingo Avatar has a weird elven chick as their mascot. She makes me a little nervous and again there's no cuteness factor here either. She's wearing a barely there dress with ribbons hanging off of her neck and ankles. A draw for male players? Probably not, she's just odd and more like repellent for bingo players.
The Queen of Bingo reigns over Jackpotjoy Bingo. Even though she's not furry and cuddly she's cute. Anyone that can rock a big blue dress with bingo balls all over it is worthy of a crown. Besides, she was Peggy on East Enders and that's just plain cool.
bet365 Bingo has the bingoheads. In fact, not only are they the mascots of the site but the players are lovingly referred to as bingoheads as well.
Costa is cool, Cheeky is…well, cheeky and Gala had Peter Andre. The mascots draw players in. It's part of the look of the bingo site and almost any bingo player will tell you that graphics and site design is critical in determining where to play.
If you ever ponder the importance of a great bingo mascot, ask yourself who wears a purple velvet suit and has lots of fur.

I like bingo mascots, in general, but sometimes the sites go a little overboard or just so many copy the same type of mascot as to get ridiculous (e.g. bingo avatar). I think the best mascots are the ones that are so much a part of the site and your bingo experience that you don't even realize they are 'mascots' - they just feel like home. I also enjoy mascots that change their attire as the seasons also change. They dress up for holidays. They get silly on April fools. They are Santa - clones at Christmas time. They don blue suede shoes and long sideburns for Elvis' birthday. Multipurpose happy bears, trolls, fairies, we love them all. Some mascots just simply are not really mascots, like suns and moons and dollar signs or money bags. They are nice icons, but mascots have names, come out and play with us, and often grace facebook pages with fun contests and opportunities for raffle entries and such.
