The company will have to pay a £100,000 fine for an act of misleading advertising, in which they did not point out the terms that apply to promotions they advertised on five gambling websites. The ad that was flagged by Advertising Standards Authority in June 2016 was posted on Butlers Bingo website. The ad also appeared on Bingo Diamond, Casino of Dreams, Dotty Bingo and Rehab Bingo sites.
The ad was promoting the "Deposit £10. Play £35" bonus scheme which was found to be misleading as it did not include, in smaller print as is the norm, the terms and conditions connected with this promo. The UK Gambling Commission's regulations about gambling advertising state that adverts must comply with the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing and, "must state significant limitations and qualifications."
In a joint public statement following this penalty issued by the UKGC, Broadway Gaming has accepted that they have violated the advertising rules and breached the Social Responsibility code.
