Earlier this week, The Guardian, the UK newspaper, published a report that an attempt of Caesars Entertainment to purchase its UK software provider Gamesys was not successful as the latter was not interested in selling, however the entire story was denied by both parties on Tuesday.
Gamesys powers Caesars' UK online bingo sites and the two companies have built a strong collaboration primarily through the Interactive division of Caesars (formerly Harrah's).
The Guardian did not mention the purchase price, but industry experts assessed a fair offer would be cca GBP300 million in light of the fact that Jackpotjoy site in the ownership of Gamesys has over three million users.
This is not the first time that Gamesys has been mentioned in the context of prospective sales, as four years ago PartyGaming made a bid for GBP 200 million pounds, however due to the intervention of American anti-gambling legislation, PartyGaming gave up attempted purchase.
