Lawmakers to Intervene with Minnesota Lottery Online Scratch Tickets
It's been about a month since Minnesota launched online wagering on instant scratch card tickets and the Minnesota Lottery is now dealing with lawmakers with concerns that a law was not presented related to the use of the internet to increase lottery sales.

The Associated Press news agency reported that Senate leaders want to pursue a one-sentence amendment to the state law preventing the new venture from moving forward.

Lottery chief Ed Van Petten has taken this threat seriously.

Republican Party Senate Minority Leader David Hann said: "It really pushes the boundaries of what the law allows," he told AP. "There needs to be some restraint brought to this. I don't want to have a guy in the lottery office over there wondering how much more he can get away with."

There are concerns over what the lottery plans to do in the future.

Van Petten's lottery officials insist that the online scratch cards can aid in increasing ticket sales.
