Despite the late October announcement about a launch of mobile lottery in Papua New Guinea, the country's Government National Gaming Control Board (NGCB) decided to bow to the community and church criticism, and suspend PNG Lotto's mobile lottery operations only weeks after it was released in partnership with Digicel telecommunications company.
Further public consultations are still to be held during the week, and as Paul Siwi, PNG Lotto CEO explained, "The suspension will allow for further consultations with community leaders and a review to ensure that PNG Lotto is meeting all of the conditions of the license awarded by the Gaming Board."
