The latest news from Swedish gambling monopoly Svenska Spel include an announcement that the company has appointed a new CEO, an experienced financial and banking executive Lennart Kall, who will take over the position from temporary chief Anders Hagg, the company's CFO, in the next few months.
Kall will join Svenska Spel from Wasa Kredit, where he also served as a CEO. Prior to this, he occupied a number of senior positions, such as the ones in the Swedish banking and financial system, TryggFinans, SEB Finans, ICA Banken, and the Ticket Travel Group.
According to Svenska Spel Chairman Anitra Steen, Kall's appointment will bring a lot of benefit for the company as “He has solid and well documented experience in development and change management as well as in sales and marketing from numerous companies. He is a proven leader that will be valuable for the future development of Svenska Spel."
In regards to his new position, Kall said: “Svenska Spel is an exciting company with a strong corporate brand and a number of popular gaming products. Also, the connection to Swedish sports was very appealing to me. I am very honoured to be appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer.
“My gaming experience can be summarised in my weekly lottery numbers but I also have 30 years business experience in a variety of trades and markets. The common denominator has been an interest in consumer markets and a strong customer focus. I will bring this experience to Svenska Spel.”
