This past period was the luckiest for a Virginia punter who scored not one, but two million dollar prizes in the same lottery draw.
It was a lady called Virginia Fike who won the lottery twice on the same day with two winning tickets for a million dollars each in the April 7 Powerball draw.
It appears that this lucky punter bought her tickets at the same truck stop, and that she chose numbers based on her parents' anniversary and their ages at that time, divided by the year they were married.
She was reportedly keeping her mother company in the hospital when she saw news of the draw on television. On the occasion, she said: 'Wouldn't it be funny if it was us?'“ She then went to a convenience store to check her tickets, only to discover that she was the one to win both of Virginia's 1 million-dollar prizes.
According to Virginia Lottery spokesman John Hagerty, “This is the biggest prize we've ever had in Virginia of two tickets in the same drawing.”
