  • Hi Bingo Babes,

Facebook has worked with Gamesys to create the first ever real money bingo app, Bingo Friendzy!

You can get more information in the LBB news articles:

Facebook Makes Real-Money Bingo App Available to UK Users

Update: Details about Facebook Real Money Gambling Provided by Gamesys

If you have a Jackpotjoy Bingo account, you can use your login details to get started.

Now here's the question. A group has banded together on Facebook to get this bingo application removed. They aim to keep gambling off of Facebook. Points are made that Bingo Friendzy is meant for those over 18 yet the graphics appear to be designed with kids in mind.

What are your thoughts on gambling making its way to Facebook? Is it a problem?

  • I am on the fence about this and voted its another way for FB to make money. Quite frankly i think they just got way too big for their britches and are putting a monopoly on everything.

What i don't get with this new Bingo Freindzy site is that the web design def draws in young kids and looks like a cartoon. Now i am not one of those groups squawking anti-gambling that's for sure but they had to know there was going to be groups who would fight this tooth and nail.

And of course there is a Christian group that has already filed a complaint to the ASA saying the site is similar to some children's cartoon and will encourage kids to gamble blah blah blah.

Why in the heck did this bingo site not cover all the bases because surely they knew this was going to happen.

    Lips

  • I agree with what you said lips. If I were at the round table discussing a new cash bingo app, I would anticipate this backlash. No matter what there will be negative feedback but the last thing I'd do would be to make the graphics attractive to kids. Gamblers don't need little furry balls to draw us in. Personally, I like my bingo balls smooth.  ;)

  • Lmaooooooo yes i kind of figured you did!!!

  • If they make some kind of age filtering and make that game available only to 18+ members, it would be ok even if they release a full selection of casino games as well, altogether with cartoon graphics.

I must agree with froggy though, cartoon theemes and furry balls are definitely not my preference.

  • Hey!

I don't see any difference with it on facebook and don't think it is a big deal. Bingo is available on the net facebook or not. Underage kids can access anything if they really want to.  The complaints are silly imho.

    B4B

  • That's my line of thinking on this B4B. When I really gave it some thought, what's to stop underage players from signing up to an online casino.... Absolutely nothing. In fact, I've read so many stories of kids taking their parents' cards and gambling.

If I saw that app on Facebook, I would probably not even read the fact that's it's a real cash game and pass it over simply because the graphics are for a 5 year old.

  • In my view it's just a step that Facebook has taken in order to get even more money. And that's about all that's important.

There will be age filtering as far as I know but I don't know how effective it will be.

  • I am not for this at all. Before we know it FB will have more power than google and rule the cyber world. Too much power in one spot is not ever any good imo. Don't they have enough billions already sheesh.

  • You make a very real and valid point liquor. Its dangerous when a site such as FB has that much power.

    Lips

  • I honestly thought Facebook would be something that faded out like MySpace. They just keep getting bigger and bigger. I will have to check out this Bingo Friendzy and see what it's all about. Has anyone checked it out?

  • This is another means to gamble online so I cant see why a player would disagree with bingo becoming available online. On the flip side Facebook is getting too big imo. I would much rather play bingo on an actual bingo website and access a variety than sit on fb and play Bingo Friendzy. To anyone that has played, do you prefer it to the jackpotjoy bingo site or any other? Those characters are childish. I too would pass on it probably without even knowing it was for real money bingo.

  • Facebook is quite addictive to some users.  I hope we don't see any tragic events on the news because mom was playing bingo on FB.  The phenomena is taking off; I see more and more bingo sites every day, and many claiming to be the only FB app where you can win real cash.

  • This bingo app is just the beginning. There are so many gambling operators in talks with Facebook. It's just a matter of time before it's overrun with online gambling.

  • I'm just kinda mad it's not available to US players.
