Established in 1999, Tombola is renowned for big jackpots, no wagering on winnings derived from bonuses, prompt withdrawals, 24/7 live support and exclusive online games. In March 2020, Britain’s biggest bingo site introduced a bingo variant known as ‘Paper’, which just happened to be their first-ever penny bingo game!
How Do You Play Paper Bingo?
Paper Bingo from Tombola is a mobile-optimised 50-ball bingo variant with just the one prize per game and two multi-level jackpots. The aim of the game is to mark five numbers in any (active) column before anyone else to win the full house prize. Tickets range from 1p to 10p and a player can purchase a maximum of 5 tickets per game.
In October 2022, Tombola announced a change to the stakes and jackpots. The previous stake options of 1p, 2p, 5p and that max of 10p per ticket had been adjusted somewhat, by removing the 5p option and introducing a new max stake bet of 20p. The new changes also come with bigger prizes and jackpots. Instead of being able to play for £5K, there are now jackpots of up to £10K in every game!
To purchase tickets choose the 1p, 2p, 10p or 20p ticket option.
Once you have selected your stake, the next step is to decide on how many tickets you wish to play by manually selecting each coloured column. To play the maximum number of tickets (5), simply click the green column to highlight all. Press to buy and confirm. Your stake will be deducted from your bankroll and your tickets will be active in the next game.
A count-down timer will appear on screen with 3-seconds to go. Numbers are drawn randomly to the top of the screen. Any matching those on your active tickets will be removed from play. The winner will be the player(s) who removes five numbers off one column before anyone else.
Paper Bingo Stakes and Jackpot Prize Tiers:
Playing 1p stakes will cost a max of 5p per game and delivers jackpots of £100 and £500.
Stakes of 2p will cost 10p for all five tickets in play with jackpots of £200 and £1K.
Tickets priced at 10p is a bet of 50p for all five tickets, and this bet level offers the bigger full house prize still, plus jackpots of £1K and £5K.
Max bets of 20p per ticket will cost £1 for all 5 tickets in play. This option delivers the biggest full house prize of all as well as jackpots of £2K and £10K.
How Do You Win A Paper Bingo Jackpot?
To win a jackpot, players must match all five numbers in one column within 5 or 6 calls. The tier 2 jackpot is the equivalent to 10,000x the player’s stake and is awarded when a full house is won in 6 calls. The tier 1 jackpot is the equivalent to 50,000x the original stake and is credited when a full house is won in just 5 calls.
Should more than one person win the jackpot, each will receive the full jackpot amount. Prizes are credited immediately to a player's tombola account as real money. You can view the last 50 jackpot winners in Paper by heading to the winner’s tab on the homepage and selecting Paper from the dropdown menu.
