Landmark Bingo Review

I found a study of “novelty-related decision making” which shows that adults’ brains are hard-wired to prefer novelty and adventure. The subjects of the University College London study were shown 4 cards and they were asked to choose one. One of those cards had a monetary reward. When the subject chooses that card, its brain’s pleasure processor lights up. New cards were introduced over time and the subjects tended to choose the new cards instead of the known money-rewarding ones. They came to the conclusion that humans choose novelty thinking that new cards will pay out with higher reward. It seems that novelty drives choice behavior and researchers suspect that dopamine may be released when a novel choice is made. Another study shows that it is important for all brands to maintain familiar brand association. And that’s exactly what Landmark Bingo did. They have a new design, nicely refreshed but still recognizable and familiar.

There were many players online when I logged in, there were over 100 of them in the 90-ball room and I thought “No way I’m going to play here”; the 80-ball room was also very crowded so I chose the 75-ball room where there were just over 30 players. But still, I bought the maximum number of cards and I expected to win. It was a lot of fun…. I won some, I lost some; the prizes were quite decent between £5 and £10 for covering a letter and over £10 for Full House. I actually decided to stop while I was at the top; in my last game I covered letter O getting £7.67 and Full House winning £10.2.

I was very excited about the bingo game so I tried some slots… of course, what else. There were some new slots available and the first one I tried was “Arabian Nights” and it was awful; empty spin after another, and I mean that literally. I didn’t want to quit and I tried another new slot called “Lost Treasure” and it was a completely different story. I brought my balance up from £50 to £61 without a feature, so the slot was paying really nicely in the base game; that is also nice and refreshing and I could feel my brain producing dopamine. Well, I guess my brain was really busy producing different “happy” hormones because I really had a blast during this online bingo adventure!
