A 67 year old grandmother from Pendlebury, Salford won an amazing bingo jackpot of £128,000 at a local land based bingo hall. The sudden windfall was shared with her daughter and both could not be happier. The happiness that should of followed days afterwards, instead turned out to be anything but. The four men entered the house around midnight where Bennell was greeted by a stab wound to his chest. As for Peter Flanagan, 39 who stabbed the intruder, he was arrested and let go pending further investigation. Detectives claim this is not the first altercation for Bennell after breaking into the home of a professional gambler. Perhaps a stiffer penalty by the court will discourage the robbers from attempting such a crime in the future.
