It’s all go over at Mecca Bingo HQ this month, and by that I mean lots of things have gone! Remember those exclusive raffles where you could win a prize for free via post or for 50p to £1 a ticket? Those same revolutionary new bingo raffles with runner up prizes of bonuses and cash? Well, they’ve gone and there are no plans for them to return!

Apple gadget bundles, luxury hot tubs, televisions, smartphones, a year of free bingo, holidays, groceries and many other prizes were won by some very lucky people, and I for one am sad to see them go. All it took was a postcard or a max of a quid to get your name into the draw, it was as simple as that! So why the change?

Customer champion Robbie when approached for comment said: “Unfortunately we do not do the raffles anymore. This is up to the promotions team and please note that we have had changes on the website whereby many games were removed as well.” Oh, this was news to me! So off to the lobby I went in search of the ‘changes’ and what did I find? A reduced number of slots and not everyone is happy about it!

Spiralling Issues

The Mecca Bingo Facebook page has been awash with complaints of late with disgruntled players airing their grievances for all to see. After the planned maintenance transformed into days and days of errors, we thought everything would be back up and running, but we were wrong! There were instances of accounts being locked, bonuses disappearing and funds unavailable to withdraw, and it would seem these problems are still very much a worry for many Mecca Bingo customers.

The free-to-play daily wheel would launch for some and not for others and the premium wheel where a deposit is needed to trigger the offer, decided to reset itself for many too! Just two days ago one user asked, “Can I ask when the withdrawal issue will be finished please, as I withdrew money almost a week ago, some has gone missing and not showing in my history and the other is still pending on my withdrawal history, I know you've got issues but it's not fair.”

The standard response came from the social media team, which instantly tried to divert all problem queries to live chat. The original users was unhappy with the copy and paste reply and made it known to all that she was not happy, “I always get Jonathan who obviously hates people moaning as he always disconnects me, Nora does nothing but fob me off and no one else seems to know the answers, the chuckle brothers could do better!” OUCH!

Another problem seems to be with the ‘refunds.’ All players who opted into a game as the website crashed were promised they would get their money back. It’s been more than a week now and those affected are yet to see the money returned to their account. Is that the end of the problems? Unfortunately not!

Jade Lovatt, a loyal Mecca Bingo customer for years, took to social media to provide a little insight into what is happening. Many customers who are struggling to log in were being told it’s a technical issue, in fact, it’s much worse than that! Thanks to a customer support agent, Jade was finally given the answer – her account, along with many, many others, had been suspended due to the crash and they have no idea when it will be rectified!
