Microgaming’s list of games is substantial – more than 800 gaming brands worldwide to be precise, and the only way they’re going to increase that is by tapping into new markets, and it would seem eSports is the way forward (for now), as they leave the slot machine reels behind to target a new market - the video gaming market.
An exciting new partnership has been struck between…
…the Isle of Man-based software provider and an eSports betting and entertainment media company known as Unikrn (rated as excellent on TrustPilot), and I for one can’t wait to see the products emerging from this deal.
The developer’s aggregation platform is already set up to feature some of the world’s most popular mainstream games, including Counter Strike, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Call of Duty War Zone and NBA2K!
Leon Thomas, Commercial Director at Microgaming, comments: “Microgaming has a rich history of product innovation and development, and we are constantly exploring new avenues to deliver unique content that raises the bar of entertainment. Unikrn has a strong reputation for delivering innovative esports gaming experiences that capture the attention of players around the world, and we firmly believe the addition of their esports product will allow us to bring something special to the market.”
In with a Sporting Chance
Established in 2014, the relatively new company claim to live and breathe eSports, so Rahul Sood and Karl Flores got together to create one of the world’s leading eSports companies by building a crossroad through betting, blockchain, content and experiences. You can find out more about the company on Facebook.
Rahul Sood, Unikrn co-founder, was once the CEO of Microsoft Ventures, but explained his reasoning behind his decision to leave: “When I left my position as CEO of Microsoft Ventures, it was to create something unprecedented. Unikrn Virtual is a never-ending well of exclusive content that will change the betting landscape. With our Microgaming partnership, I'm excited to access Microgaming’s network and global reach.”
If you’re an online gamer who enjoys the likes of Call of Duty (COD) and Tomb Raider (among many, any other titles!), you can earn free rewards just for playing popular games and by doing so, you can unlock new AAA titles.
Andrew Vouris, COO of Unikrn, added: “Unikrn Virtual is the solution to the single most foundational issue facing bookmakers today, even in the fast world of esports, content gaps can wreak havoc on bettor engagement. For bettors who want engaging, 24/7 options, Unikrn Virtual is the only option!”
What do you make of the collaboration? Do you think it’s a good idea or a bad one? Personally, I think it’s great. If you can earn bonuses through gaming, why shouldn’t you?

I love to play online games and watch streamers on Twitch, but I’ve never even heard of this company. Crazy to think I’ve been missing out on freebies. I’m heading off over there to see what the fuss is about.
