With this in mind, the company has begun trials of iPad-style tablets at the Reading bingo hall. Regarding this development, group chief executive Ian Burke stated that the electronic version would appeal to the under-35s: “Electronic gaming offers all sorts of additional benefits to players. I wouldn't describe our handheld devices as an iPad, but it's the same principle,” he said.
It was also specified that the group hopes the tablet format will enlarge the client base, attracting more men in their 20s into the venues.
