Republican Sen. Jimmy Hickey, sought an immediate ban; however the House Rules Committee has reached a compromise including Hickey that tables the issue until next spring.
"To me it seems the wisest thing to do is to just stop it all and let everybody regroup and have a real debate in a real general session," House Speaker Davy Carter said.
The state lottery believes it would sell $12.5 million in monitor game tickets generating $3.8 million in additional revenue for college scholarships.
