The results revealed that 69% of people believe in luck while 31% of the people do not. Different regions produced results that varied considerably. The Irish ranked among the highest to believe in luck with 62.5% voting yes. Luck was on the side of the Welsh who came in second at 55.3% followed by Londoners at 54.2% and Easterners at 52.2%.
Scotland had little faith in luck with a staggering 71% believing there is no luck at all. Other areas that aren't feeling so lucky include North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands.
Superstitions were part of the survey with 57.5% of Britain suggesting they were superstitious. Classic superstitions that people felt are certain to bring bad luck were avoided by 39.8% who would not walk under a ladder. Blowing the candles out while making a birthday wish is kept secret by 30% of those who participated in the poll, otherwise suggesting the wish won't come true.
Is it pure luck that makes the winner or destiny that charts the course? Either way it's looked at, a winner in anything boils down to one conclusion, lucky.
