Bingo has always been considered a favorite pastime of elderly people, but its demographics have recently been going through such variations that this generally accepted notion should be changed. Some research studies conducted lately show that, even though bingo is still a popular social activity for the middle-aged, it is becoming increasingly appealing to younger players, as well.
Specifically in the UK, the popularity of online bingo has been experiencing a considerable growth, especially among younger generations of professionals. The 62 percent increase in the number of 45-under players in the past ten years is mostly owed to technological development, social opportunities that bingo offers, as well as the recent recession, which forced people to turn to inexpensive entertainment.
In terms of numbers, the UK bingo market has a player pool of around 3.2 million. Of this number, 700,000 are professionals between 18 and 25 years of age.
