Saving Can be Tedious, But There are Smarter Ways to Do It: From the 1p Challenge to the Bingo Challenge

Saving money is no mean feat yet we all should be popping a bit aside for a rainy day. If you’re struggling to save hundreds or maybe a couple of thousand, there are easier ways of doing it. One of the most popular across social media is the 1p challenge which could help users save £667.95p a year…

…and you won’t feel the pain of popping cash away either. To begin the challenge, you pop 1p into your savings pot on the 1^st of January. On the 2^nd add 2p, the third add 3p and so on. Repeat this each day until day 365 where the final £3.65 will be saved, taking you to that sum of £667.95.

Now, that seems relatively easy because the maximum amount of money you’ll be putting away is that £3.65 at the end of the challenge. If it seems a little too easy, try doubling it – 2p on day one, 4p on day two, until you reach day 365 where you save £6.30. This one will see you saving a total of £1335.90p.

A handy tip is to try saving it backwards too so you don’t have to save the larger sums of money in December – this is when money can be tight.

Ditching the weekly takeaway can save you up to as much as £1000 a year too. Instead of spending £20 on a weekly treat, why not pop it aside for a bigger treat at the end of the year?

How to Save Money on Your Bingo

There are many online bingo sites offering bargain bingo games despite not showing it. Free bingo, games where tickets are cheaper than they should be and extra in-game features for the same price.
