Losing a couple of quid down the sofa is easy enough for anyone to do but imagine losing more than £40m! On Tuesday, December 3rd, one lucky ticket holder in the UK matched all five main numbers drawn on the EuroMillions, as well as both Lucky Stars to net the grand sum of £40,957,696.60p. The life-changing sum of money is still unclaimed and now, the location of the ticket has been revealed.
If you’re a resident of Dorset, the shire county, you’re one step closer to becoming a multi-millionaire. Known for its Jurassic Coast, Dorset may be famous for its soaring limestone arch, Durdle Door, but it’s now famous for an unclaimed lottery ticket.
If you purchased a EuroMillions ticket back on the 3rd in Dorset and are yet to check that ticket (what the heck have you been doing?) – go check it now – right now! The winning numbers were 18, 31, 32, 38 and 48 with Lucky Stars 4 and 12. The National Lottery are urging players in the Dorset region of the UK to check those tickets.
If you believe you may have lost that ticket or damaged the ticket, you’ve 30-days from the date of the relevant draw to submit a claim for it in writing.
Life-Shattering Win
Imagine scooping a huge cash sum on the lottery only to be denied your winnings. Would be pretty devastating huh? Well, for one man, this nightmare scenario became a reality only this year. Mark Goodram, a 36-year old from England bought a £10 scratchcard with his mate (John-Ross) just days after being released from prison. To his absolute shock, that ticket was a winning one, and not just a tenner or £100, but £4,000,000 – what a bonus!
After his win, he borrowed cash from friends and went on a four-day bender in London and posted pictures to Facebook of champagne, stacks of £50 notes and lavish meals. Sadly, The National Lottery refused to pay out the winnings on account that the credit card used to purchase the winning scratchcard was in fact stolen!
Camelot requested information on who the card belonged to after discovering neither Mark nor John-Ross had bank accounts, but all Mark could say was that his mate let him use the card before moving away. He couldn’t even supply a full name or previous address for his ‘friend.’ They have since claimed he wants to remain ‘anonymous’ and has moved ‘up North.’
A friend of the unlucky winner spoke to the news and revealed that he is now homeless. “You hear about rags to riches, but he has gone from the champagne lifestyle, thinking he was a millionaire, to being on the street, drinking cheap cider and hanging with beggars. He came out of prison not long before his win, but he has been booted out and now he is on harder times than ever.”

Lottery tickets are easily damaged. They should bring out a new style of ticket in my opinion. I play online, that way I can’t lose my ticket and if I win, Camelot email me.
