Being open to other things in life is one of the main philosophies of randomness, and here's the proof: a man from Swansea has won an incredible sum of £100,000 on a scratchcard after cancelling a game of bingo with friends on Wednesday, August 1st.
The lucky man from Waun Wen (Swansea, Wales) decided to go for a walk along the seafront with a friend and her daughter, since a couple of his friends changed their plans for the day. It soon turned out that the walk was set to alter his life in a way he could only dream of.
A Cheaper Scratchcard:
After spending some time walking along the docks, David Godfrey (25) and his friend, Laura, decided it's time to head back. However, on the way back, Laura's daughter wanted a drink, and David, being a gentleman, offered to buy her a soda. He went into the Co-op for the first time, and just out of curiosity started to look at two different scratchcards...
He decided to go for the cheaper of the two and started scratching as soon as he got outside. After seeing the first six digits, he was already pretty excited, but as soon as he saw the second winning combination, he mumbled: "Oh my God, I think I've won."
A Home and Trip To New York:
Soon after realizing that it wasn't a dream, David immediately decided to put his winnings into a fund for his very first home. Moreover, he will also take his mum to New York, since she's always wanted to visit the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty.
Our winner, a manager at Argos in Morfa Retail Park, also plans to use the lottery funds to buy new furnishings for the house, but he will still use his company's discount to save as much money as possible.
