We all need a hug from time to time. An American called Kevin Zaborney was worried enough about the post-Christmas lull and winter blues that he tried to get a national hugging holiday off the launch pad.
Tidy – a very warm and friendly site – liked the idea enough to celebrate it throughout January 2015 with a leader-board competition open to all players.
The prize is very appropriate for this time of year: a luxury 13.5-tog duvet, Ultra Bounce pillows and a duvet set from Silent Night.
HUG It Out is extremely easy to enter. Just play bingo. You earn points by winning on the H, U or G patterns (10 points). Full house wins in 75-ball and 90-ball games on 8/H, 21/U or 7/G are worth five points each. Win on a 7, 8 or 21 in the Tidy Cupboard, the exclusive room that opens each Tuesday night between 7pm and 11pm, are worth 10 points. Players who complete all three pattern wins – H, U and G – will win a one-off 50 point bonus.
You'll find a leader-board running on the Tidy blog, and keep an eye on the site's Facebook page for the latest news.
Sadly, Mr Zaborney's big idea has failed to win official approval in his native country, where a vote of Congress is needed to create a public holiday. That's a shame, as hugging has been found to have beneficial effects on both physical and mental health.
If you're in need of a hug, or some lovely warm bed clothes, head to Tidy Bingo throughout January and pick up a 200% welcome bonus on your first deposit.
