November was one hell of a month for lucky mum of four, Anita Campbell from Seaham, after going from newbie bingo player to millionaire within less than a fortnight! They say luck comes in three’s, but it came in two’s for Anita after bagging not one, but two wins of more than £500K after re-opening her online bingo account.
Initially, the lucky mum released a short statement to the press and asked to remain anonymous, but now she’s come forward to reveal what life was really like before her life-changing wins. The 51 year-old told the media that she used to play bingo at her local but stopped when her mother passed away, then last month, she re-opened her bingo account and made a deposit of £100 never dreaming of hitting the headlines around the globe.
After a year living on Universal Credit, Anita revealed just how hard it was: "It’s been more than a year and it has been very hard. I’ve lost weight, I’ve not been able to eat properly, which has had an effect on my diabetes." Since her major wins, she has purchased a home for her elderly father, paid off her debts and treated her children. "I thought straightaway, I can help my kids with this money,”she said.
Millionaire Bingo Player
Just hours after playing her first bingo games at Mecca Bingo, Anita was gobsmacked when a win of £597,000 flashed on her screen. Ten days later, Anita struck it lucky again with another win, this time of £522K “I just couldn’t believe that I’d won again,” Anita said.
You’d think after her two major wins she would call it a day, but Anita has revealed that she doesn’t plan on stopping playing online bingo and is even hoping to strike it lucky a third time. Her children were treated to shopping trips and her 5-year old grandson called her up to ask for some new toys: “He rang me and asked “Nana are you rich? Can I have some Lego?” I’m sure she can afford more than just a few bits of Lego pal.
The lucky mum of four has recently moved out of her rented accommodation into a new property and has given her old furniture to people she felt might have needed it. After banking her life-changing cash, a chunk of her windfall was used to pay off her mother’s funeral from last year and now she plans to foot the bill for her daughter to undergo IVF treatment.
James Boord, Digital Director at Mecca Bingo, said: “We're delighted for the winner, what a fantastic stroke of luck she has had. We're so glad MeccaBingo.com was able to help her with such life-changing opportunities. It's a great feeling when someone wins big and its changes their life. We wish the winner and her family all the luck in the world.”

Congratulations to her indeed, but if things were that hard she couldn’t heat, how could she afford £100 on bingo? That’s a lot of cash to play online with.
