  • Crazy Fad Diets That Don't Work

    th_imgres-72.jpg

The Cabbage Soup Diet is a quick fix -- you can only follow the diet plan for seven days at a time. During that week, you can only eat fruits, vegetables and, of course, cabbage soup (staying true to the diet's moniker).

The Grapefruit Diet is also built around limiting calories by greatly minimizing the foods that one is "allowed" to eat. This eating plan, which has been around since the 1930s, sets out a specific set of foods that dieters can eat for meals, which include unsweetened grapefruit juice, black coffee, non-starchy vegetables and some fish and meats.

Although it's been around since the 1950s, the HCG Diet has received quite a bit of press over the past year. Requiring dieters to take in only 500 calories a day -- while the lowest intake recommended by the U.S. Committee on Dietary Allowance is 1,200 calories -- HCG couples caloric restriction with injections of the human choriogonadotropin (HCG) hormone. The hormone is supposed to stimulate weight loss. However, the FDA has approved the hormone treatment for women having fertility issues at this point, but not for weight loss.

The images conjured up by the Sleeping Beauty Diet's name turn out to be fairly accurate. The plan encourages people to sedate themselves for a few days to "sleep off" weight. The King of Rock 'n Roll himself, Elvis Presley, reportedly was a fan of this diet plan.

We've all heard that "French Women Don't Get Fat," but French women's magazine, Grazia, reported on a diet that takes this assertion to an extreme -- "L'Air Fooding" or "The Air Diet."

Apparently inspired by photographs of stars and models holding food near their mouths without actually ingesting it, this "diet plan" suggests miming eating without actually following through.

Ear stapling, which originated from the Chinese medical practice of acupuncture, involves the piercing of small staples into the ear's inner cartilage. These staples are supposed to act as appetite suppressants by triggering a key pressure point within the ear.

Have you ever tried a fad diet? I have tried the cabbage soup diet and as soon as i got off it i gained every single pound back not to mention that cabbage in any soup has ruined me forever!

I say just Eat Sleep Bingo! for some great Bingo Treats and Calorie Free Bingo!

  • I've done the cabbage soup diet too. OMG can't ever eat anything like that soup again. I've done the Adkins where you eliminate carbs. That one is so hard. I love me some bread!

  • Way back when, way back then, I got those HCG shots.  I've got to say, it worked.  It worked great.  But you can't touch oil or skin as you absorb it and will gain weight, for one thing.  You could buy meals from them or fix your own.  Really some skinless grilled chicken and veggies isn't bad.  500 calories a day was pretty hard to keep up.  You had to take a break after so many weeks, and before starting again (my favorite part) you got to go on a kinda binge where you ate as much as you wanted for a day or so before going back down to 500 calories.

What ticked me off is that men lost at least a pound a day while the women only lost 1/2 if that.

I don't give a darn anymore what I weigh as long as my clothes zip up and don't fall off of me while walking.

  • I never heard of those shots before. And hey it's not fair that men lose weight faster than women. Ticks me off LOL

  • I agree.  But still, 15 pounds a month is pretty nice to take off.

You have to go there every day 6 days a week to get your shot and weigh in...fun stuff.

  • Oh i think the Atkins diet is the worst ever for me! It deprived me of wayyyy to many things i liked and forces ya to eat lots of meat and i'm not a big meat eater at all! I rather go on a low fat diet!

  • Hi Bingo Babes!

I looked around the house today and thought, my goodness it needs a good Spring cleaning! Where's a girl to start? Well, I came across a few tips for my bingo buddies. You know how we like to set it on auto-play and do the dishes  ;)

    url_zpsab076af6.jpg

    10 spring cleaning tips

1 Work from the top down, inside to outside, to avoid getting what you just cleaned dirty again.

2 Do one room, even one area of one room, at a time to avoid unfinished jobs. The satisfaction of seeing one room sparkle will make the hard work feel like it's worth the effort.

3 When tidying, reduce trips around the house by temporarily depositing items in one spot en route to but not at their final destination.

4 Do two things at once. While laundry is going, scrub the shower stall.

5 Make small repairs. If you're not handy, hire someone.

6 Invest in good rubber or vinyl gloves to protect your skin and nails.

7 Dust before vacuuming or cleaning the floor. Try feather or lambswool dusters, especially extendable ones for reaching above window and door casings and into corners. Household rags are invaluable for jobs requiring a damp cloth – natural fibres work best.

8 Buy mops with a squeeze mechanism (great for vinyl, linoleum or ceramic tile floors) and a decent-size heavy-duty pail – one with a measuring scale helps get soap-to-water ratios correct.

9 Don't stand your brooms on their bristles. It will destroy their shape and diminish their effectiveness. Instead, get a broom holder, like the Magic Holder 5-position broom organizer.

10 Use a Swiffer for light dusting, or your favourite broom or vacuum attachment to clean hardwood floors. Then damp-mop with a mild cleaner such as Murphy Oil Soap. I recently discovered BonaKemi's MicroPlus Hardwood Floor Care System, which includes a mop with a removable washable microfibre pad and a nontoxic water-based spray cleaner. It makes the floors glow, and smell good, too.

Armed with this information you should having your floors shining like Mirror Bingo....er...um..mirrors in no time!

  • I need all those tips, thanks.  I'm beginning to think dust owns my house, not me.

  • LOL that's too funny chilly. I hate to clean. I like the tip about hiring a handy man except I'd like to hire someone to clean!

  • Hi Bingo Babes!

This week I'd like to get some tips from you. Whatever you'd like to share would be great. It can be anything from household tips to cocktail recipes.

  • How hot are you? Can you handle hot peppers? Put a little spice in your life. Grill them and eat them whole with your favorite grilled meat if you dare!! Grow them in your garden and they will be ready when the hots days of summer arrive!

Here is a list of the hottest peppers around:

    th_images-2_zps9a7a3607.jpg

    JALAPEÑO PEPPER

These are one of the hottest peppers. The jalapeño is one of the most common types of peppers and makes a great hot sauce. Deep fry jalapeño and stuff with american cheese or cream cheese for a tasty yet spicy appetizer.

    SERRANO PEPPER

The Serrano pepper is very much like the jalapeno , but much hotter. If you are looking for the hottest pepper in the bunch pick the smallest ones that tend to be hotter.

    CAYENNE PEPPER

The Cayenne pepper is another hot pepper and a popular choice popular to add heat to food. Cayenne pepper is red and for most part is dried and distributed in powder form. Additionally, this pepper has been used in natural medicines for centuries for its healing properties.

    TABASCO PEPPER

This pepper is used obviously for Tabasco sauce. It measures less than two inches long and can be green, red, yellow or orange in color.

    THAI PEPPER

Grown in Thailand this pepper is super hot!. The Thai pepper is one of the smallest peppers, measuring in at less than an inch. It's is used in many Thai dishes adding a hot spicy flavor.

    ROCOTO PEPPER

Don't get this pepper mixed up with a Bell pepper! It has a very similar look and shape to the sweet pepper but is extremely hot!  Some cultures use this pepper to make very spicy sauces.

    HABANERO CHILI PEPPER

This common Habanero chili is one of the hottest peppers around. This little pepper may not look like much but it is like stick of dynamite going off in your mouth!

    GHOST PEPPER

This is rated the hottest pepper in the world. The Guinness Book of World Records recognized the Ghost pepper in 2006 as the hottest of all peppers. Use caution when working with the Ghost pepper  because one seed can produce burning for up to thirty minutes in your mouth.

If you looking for a spicy bingo to go along with your pepper try our latest addition to LBB Spice Bingo. Register and claim a generous 200% Welcome Bonus. Deposit £10 and you will also receive a free bonus worth £10-£2,500 from Spin the Wheel.

  • I stop after the tobasco pepper. The ghost pepper is supposed to be insane. What are the best ways to sooth the burn of capsaicin? I've heard milk is best but idk.

  • As far as I know, milk is the only thing that can help a bit... That, and throwing up asap, so you don't get the after effects :)

I've seen these insane videos of people testing the hottest peppers, and let me tell you, it doesn't look good :) They finish usually in pains!

I am not that fun of those extremes, don't really see why would anyone subject himself to such torture.
