The California lottery authorities have announced current MegaMillions jackpot worth $536 million as one of the largest jackpots recently, and since no one picked the winning numbers for Friday's drawing the punters' attention has been drawn to the next one on Tuesday.
The lottery also reminded that the biggest MegaMillions jackpot ever won was $390 million in March 2007 with a cash option of $233 million. As for the Friday night $290 million jackpot, the lottery said it was the eighth-largest ever.
Not only in California but in 41 other states MegaMillions is played including the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
It is interesting enough to know that the odds of winning the jackpot are around 1 in 176 million.
