Ladbrokes, UK land and online gambling group could have made some important steps towards Chinese lottery market thanks to the partnership with leisure and sports lottery group AGTech Holding Ltd. In order to strengthen its position in the PRC, the company introduced a lottery platform. Together with its 51% owned joint venture with Ladbrokes - Asia Gaming Technologies (Beijing) Co. Ltd. – AGTech has obtained the permission from all relevant government authorities for the provision of new sports lottery platform in the PRC and “Lucky Racing”, its initial fixed-odds rapid-draw lottery game.
The newly launched game and platform are the first legitimate initiatives in China, allowed by their Ministry of Finance and it's compatible to the "Regulations on Administration of Lotteries" that came into effect on July 1st 2009. After its successful debut, the platform will be firstly introduced in Hunan province and then following government's planning and regulatory requirements roll out nationwide. The platform, which is made to suit Chinese lottery market, will be available via sports lottery shops and leisure venues and it is very well adjusted for Internet and phones.
“Lucky Racing” is the first game on the platform, and it's a virtual car racing lottery game with a new concept made by AGT, which is still similar to other successful racing games existing in Europe, U.S.A and Australia.
The chairman of AGTech, John Sun stated, "We are honoured that AGT has become the first international provider to supply a nationwide rapid-draw fixed-odds sports lottery central system in the PRC, representing a major milestone for the group and the entire lottery industry. Over the years, we have been working closely with the Ministry of Finance of the PRC, the General Administration of Sport of China, the National SLAC and Hunan SLAC on technical design work and market studies." He also added that fixed-odds sports' betting is the fastest growing type of game in the world saying, "Looking ahead, we will launch more games via this platform in order to enhance our share of the burgeoning lottery market in the PRC, and further strengthen our leading position."
