Marks still loves to dance and her hobbies include bridge, card games, bingo and crossword puzzles. It's one thing to reach 100 years old but imagine opening the door to a telegram from the Queen marking the occasion. I'm willing to bet that Marks was doing a jig. “I can't believe it – the years have just flown by but all I can say is I've done it my way. I don't drink or smoke and I worked very hard, right until I was 70”, she said. She also said: “My husband needed my help repairing cars and so that's what I did. I've done all sorts – I've been a window dresser and a sales lady.”
She was married to her husband for 50 years. After losing her first husband to leukemia, she remarried at the ripe old age of 80. She lived happily with him for 5 years until he passed away. Marks celebrated her birthday with a party at the Clore Manor Jewish Care Home in Great North Way, Hendon, where she resides.
