The NHS worker attended her local branch of Apollo Bingo earlier in the week and noticed her numbers were coming out one after the other. Yelling “house” to halt the game, the ticket was checked, and the crowd erupted into applause. She knew she had won but didn’t realise how much.

Looking across to her daughter, both were in disbelief when the caller announced she had not only won the in-club full house prize money, but the national jackpot of £50K! Speaking to local press, the anonymous winner said: “It was unreal. Time stood still as we both looked at each other and seemed to be silently saying ‘did you hear what I think I just did?’ It hasn’t sunk in yet really. It doesn’t matter who you are, whether you have gone to bingo for the first timeor whether you’ve been playing for years, you always have a chance to win.”

What does she plan on doing with her winnings? Giving half to her daughter who had recently just got engaged. Before winning the bingo jackpot, the soon-to-be-married pair were worrying how they would afford such a lavish ceremony, but they need not worry anymore!

How much does it cost to play? Just £1 a ticket and if you manage to call within 24 numbers, you win an additional £100, call within 20 and it’s £1K, but call within 16 numbers and you take home an extra £50K in this popular land-based, session bingo game!
