Corrie’s Sinead Tinker Lands Her First Job After Quitting the Street and It Involves Online Bingo!

Coronation Street is one of the most famous soap operas to date, and despite the cobbles has been a firm favourite with households for almost six decades, the storylines never fail to grip the nation.

Did you know William Patrick Roache MBE, aka ken Barlow, has been in the soap since it first aired back on December 9^th, 1960? He is actually listed in the Guinness World Records as the longest serving male television star in a continuous role.

Fans of Coronation Street will have recently watched the dramatic scenes play out with Sinead Tinker. The young mum left viewers heartbroken when she discovered she had cervical cancer. Whilst undergoing chemotherapy and other invasive procedures, she discovered she was pregnant and terminated all chemo.

The character played by Katie McGlynn was then given the all-clear after baby Archie was born, only to be given months to live soon after. Over what should’ve been a joyous festive period, we watched as she slipped away. Over six years we watched as she fought from ‘dumb-blonde’ status to a loveable mum-figure, but, behind the scenes, she was battling something far bigger…

…scriptwriters. For nigh-on two years, Katie struggled with screenwriters and show bosses over the lack of decent storylines. Then, low and behold they come up with a storyline which would see her being killed off. All’s good though, because the 26-year old nabbed the ‘Best Soap Actor’ gong at the National Television Awards (NTA’s) on 28^th January.

Face-Off

Since walking down the cobbles for the last time, Katie has been stuck for something to do. However, that is set to change. There’s to be no more worrying for the blonde-bombshell, now that she’s landed herself a coveted position on the online bingo scene.

McGlynn is to ‘Mecca’ fresh start with her new position as the face of Mecca Bingo. Revealing all to her masses of followers on Instagram, the star told her fans she was ‘so excited’ to be attending Mecca Fest in Blackpool on May 30^th.

The event will be home to 800 ‘lucky winners’ who will join her and other celebrities for a mega game of bingo and lots of fun with huge winnings up for grabs. But this role won’t see her staying in the UK for long, as the rising British star has revealed that she will be moving to Los Angeles to try and crack Hollywood.

Bingo news wasn’t the only topic to come from her interviews with the mainstream media as she revealed she will have no qualms if she fails to make it in the US.

“I've had some weird and wonderful meetings. All dependent on timing. I am going to LA to chase my dreams. If it doesn't happen it doesn't matter. I would love to play that kind of sassy or evil role, someone like Harley Quinn.”
