This year's hopefuls say they'd use the money they may get to pay off debt or help relatives with economic issues.
The draw will be held on Dec. 22, when about Euro 2.5 billion in prizes will be given away; the main prize is about Euro 400,000, with hundreds or thousands of tickets expected to be awarded for that amount.
As usual, many people form syndicates to improve their chances, just like last year when the remote north-eastern town of Granen won all 1,800 tickets worth Euro 400,000 each.
