Five of the most iconic superstars from the 90’s will be performing to bingo crowds in Hull this November and it’s set to be a night to remember. East17, the famous boyband from London famed for their 1994 smash-hit ‘Stay Another Day’, reveled in glory when the track spent five weeks at number one over Christmas, but despite being released more than two decades ago, it’s as popular today as it ever was.
If you’re a fan of music and are over the age of 25, you’ll recognise the line-up:
- A1, the British-Norwegian boyband famed for their version of ‘Take on Me’ (originally sung by A-Ha)
- Cheeky Girls who were made famous after their stint on the TV talent show Popstars: The Rivals with ‘We are the Cheeky Girls (Touch my Bum)’. They’re a bit like Marmite, you either love them or hate them!
- Lolly; be warned – the lyrics I’m about to post are guaranteed to get stuck in your head (if you know how it goes) - ‘Viva Viva Viva la Radio, Viva Viva Viva la Radio!’ Despite being cheesier than macaroni, I actually loved this tune and Lolly is coming back with her beloved radio once again.
- Kelly Llorenna is massive on the clubland scene even to this day with chart-topping hits; ‘Tell it to My Heart’, ‘Set You Free’ and ‘This Time I Know it’s For Real’.
Fresh Beats Dropping on Deck
This is no ordinary bingo performance, and it’s certainly not one you can bring your granny to; this is an energetic party with more dance than a nightclub. The venue has been picked – Mecca Bingo Hull Clough Road, the date has been set – November 29th, all that’s left is the guests and to get your name on the guest list, you simply need to buy a ticket.
Any bingo rules? “We don't bring the party; we are the party! The bingo is intense, the prizes are crap (cat tongue brush anyone?) and the costumes are atrocious. Leave your ego at the door, because when we say you twerk on a pole, you twerk on a pole!” Abide by those terms and you could be onto a winner!
So, where can you buy tickets to this upcoming, fun-filled bingo session? Eventbrite and here’s the price list:
- Super early bird standard ticket includes entry and entertainment: £17.50p + £1.96 fee and tax
- Standard ticket includes entry and entertainment: £25 + £2.54 fee and tax
- Silver ticket includes entry, entertainment and reserved seating: £20 + £2.93 fee and tax
- Gold ticket includes entry, entertainment and stage front reserved seating: £50 + £4.49 fee and tax
Refreshments will be available all night and doors open at 5:30pm, but don’t expect the entertainment to end by midnight, as the party continues into the small hours. Will you be attending the best bingo session of the year? Let us know below.

I absolutely love 90’s tunes and have them playing on the DAB radio, but I can honestly say I’m not a fan of bingo being mixed with nightclub sessions. This is one for the younger generation me thinks.
