Balaam, 41, had an online bingo addiction and was convicted in the Cambridge Crown Court.
She falsified invoices at the college and stole £285,986.18 over the course of nearly two years from June 2012 and January 2014. She was also the treasurer at the Girton Social Club, where she also took £3,198.
According to reports, Balaam likely made and lost £6 million while gambling online during the height of her addiction.

I am not big fan of bingo and I don't know a lot about this game but I don't know how somebody can lost that kind of money on bingo !? I can understand poker, blackjack or even sportsbook but bingo!? But this show us that gambling can make some serious problems and everyone who think that can maybe became addict should...

OMG. If not for the grace of my good upbringing, this could have been me. I used to work in colleges and universities and more than once played online bingo at work. Do we have bingo in the hoosegow? Seems like a light sentence though, almost worth all the money she spent pursuing that BINGO rush.
