Court ruling in favor of Tipp24 AG
This week, the Administrative Court in Halle brought a German internet gambling operator Tipp24 AG an important legal victory against the German States Treaty, as it ruled in favor of the company, by stating that the central restrictions of the German State Treaty on Games of Chance are inapplicable 'due to a lack of coherence and consistency'.
According to the court, Tipp24 didn't need to obtain special permission to broker lotteries, specifically the Lotto 6 Aus 49, over the internet.
The company's CEO Hans Cornehl commented: “This is a very positive decision for Tipp24. With this initial essential decision by a German court, after the most recent decisions of the European Court Of Justice on the German gaming laws, we see ourselves confirmed in our plan to resume business in Germany as soon as possible.”
