Glaswegian Pops to the Chemist and Comes Back £50K Richer!

They say when your luck’s in, your luck’s in and this was certainly the case for one lucky woman in Glasgow this week. Can you imagine waking up one morning, going about your daily chores and then on passing your local bingo hall you decide to nip in for a quick game (or two) before coming out £50K richer?

Nah, me neither, but it did happen. The lucky lady who does not wish to be named, took home a huge jackpot prize after only initially popping out to pick up a prescription. However, a gust of wind must have blown her into the bingo hall before she started to mark her books for a once in a lifetime win.

The 63-year old was on route to the chemist and was told she had a 20-minute wait for her prescription, so, instead of hanging around looking at the goods in the shop like I do, she decided to pop into Mecca Bingo in Allerdyce Court on Monday.

The National Bingo Game is how she won her fortune – a linked-up jackpot ticket with prizes for both in-house and national players. The quicker you call house on this one, the more you can win on top of the stated prize fund. The extremely lucky woman called house on the number 19 on the 16^th call – that’s how she won such a life-changing amount of money.

Duncan Anderson, manager at Drumchapel Mecca, told the Clydebank Post: “She was really quite calm when she won. I don’t think she could believe it. I don’t think it sunk in how much she’d won. It’s our first 50k winner in a couple of years.”
