Halloween Drag Bingo Coming to Isle of Wight Plus What is Flamingo Bingo?

Nowadays, bingo isn’t just the usual game of bingo – it comes in many different forms; from Gingo with its alcoholic twist to Bongo’s Bingo with dance-offs and tongue-in-cheek entertainment, no two are ever the same. We’ve stumbled upon two new games of bingo this week…

…Flamingo Bingo and Halloween Drag Bingo. The latter is a one-off event held on the Isle of Wight, but it’s not exactly new to the island. In 2018, Drag Bingo was so popular the event organisers decided to bring it back again to raise funds for Isle of Wight Pride.

It’s eyes down for a full house on Fright-day the 25th October at 8pm with drag comedian Jacqui pulling the balls from the bag and it would seem she’s somewhat of a local celebrity

…with a spokesperson for Isle of Wight Pride saying: “Jacqui was born and raised on the Island, so her humour and quick wit is a great success with local audiences. She is able to give an amusing twist to calling out the numbers and those who false call.”

Three games of bingo will be played with three prizes in each, and prizes have been generously donated by Sainsbury’s in Newport. Bingo game prizes will also be awarded for the best fancy dress, so don’t forget to turn up in your best outfits. Tickets for Drag Bingo are £5 in advance or £7 at the door. The location of the event is Bar74, Union Street, Ryde.

Be a Flamingo in a Flock of Pigeons

Flamingo is a brand-new bingo concept taking Pembrokeshire (in Wales, UK) by storm. Hundreds of bingo players turn up in their masses for an evening of fun-filled bingo sessions, partying and exclusive prizes. ‘Time for tea it’s eight-three’ and a whole load more of sayings will have you hunched with laughter.

Events are held in a disused building on the showground in Haverfordwest, the location of the annual agricultural county show and each of the events features an all-star caller. Previous events have seen all-star callers up on the stage including Antony Cotton who was made famous for his role as Sean Tulley in Coronations Street and from rival soap – Shaun Williamson, aka Barry Evans from Eastenders.

Upcoming events will see X-Factor quarter-finalist Chico call the numbers; the tickets sold out in record time for this one and in December, Neville Wilshire from BBC’s The Call Centre will take to the stage in another venue in Pembrokeshire, this time in Tenby; the popular coastal town. X-Factors Chico will perform to a sell-out audience on Saturday, October 26th from 6pm until 1am – will you be there?
