No doubt you’ll have heard of the National Bingo Game by now; the linked-up bingo game which is played twice a day at hundreds of land-based bingo halls. For £1 for two tickets ticket (or £2 for 5), bingo players stand the chance of winning up to £50,000 in each game – the sum which one lucky mother of two from Telford won recently.
The lucky winner who asked to remain anonymous was visiting her mother at their local bingo hall on the weekend when her numbers came up. Reminiscing on how she daubed her way to £50K, the lady revealed how shocked she was when her numbers came out one after the other.
Each ticket delivers five chances to win. The 50-ball bingo game features no lines just a full house and the quicker you call, the more you win. She said: "I'm in total shock. All I remember is my mum telling me to ring my husband and him not believing it.”
All the Fours:
The winner is a regular at the Telford branch of Mecca Bingo but has never won anything substantial before – the most was £500, but that’s usually how things are done. “He always tells me jokingly not to come home unless I win, so for me to tell him I won £50,000 was a huge shock. It's not just about winning, it's a fun night out and the team at Mecca Telford make it enjoyable and exciting.”
She continued: "I wouldn't play anywhere else and I certainly won't forget the number 44." After her real money win, the bingo goer has revealed how she plans to go on holiday with her family and buy a new car.
General manager of Mecca Telford, Sue Winstanley, said of the win: “It was great to see a regular member of our club win £50,000. It’s such a transformative amount of money and it’s a pleasure to see someone who really appreciates it, take it away – the whole club was delighted.”

The Game and Participating Bingo Halls:
The National Bingo Game offers each player at participating clubs the chance to win life-changing prizes every day (except Christmas Day). Each player with a ticket will need to mark a full house in the stated number of calls to win any of the linked-up prizes. If nobody in your club manages to call within 24 calls, there will be an in-house prize up for grabs.
Any jackpot stated can be won in addition to the club prize, so when you win a jackpot, you win the club prize too! Call in 24 numbers of less to win an additional £100, call in 20 calls for an additional £1000 or call in 16 numbers to scoop an extra £50,000.
