Mecca Bingo in Ipswich will never be the same again after it was confirmed that rival bingo operator; Club 3000 have acquired the building. The club is set to change hands on 15th October, but players won’t notice any change at all, what with bingo sessions continuing as normal, although, there will be a slight change to how you sign in.
The deal between Club 3000 and Rank will see a further four Mecca Bingo venues across the country change hands with new operator promising a seamless switch over. Current staff at the five Mecca Bingo venues will see their employment transferred, which means there will be no job losses in the transitioning.
Ali Strickland, general manager of Club 3000 said on the news: "This is a really exciting time both for our bingo club and for Club 3000. The transition is a great opportunity for staff and players to experience all the enjoyment of the game with different operators. We're looking forward to seeing the club up and running with all of our staff doing what they do best.”
A spokesman for Club 3000 expressed his elation on the "fantastic community" spirit which can be found in Ipswich, adding: "The new venue will continue to offer something for everyone - both frequent bingo lovers and new bingo players."
Brian Fraser, founder of Club 3000, said: "We are delighted to be taking over the Mecca Bingo club in Ipswich. This is a great business to add to our current portfolio of 19 clubs. We look forward to welcoming customers and colleagues to the Club 3000 family."
About Club 3000:
Many of the bingo games will remain the same especially when it comes to the linkups as Mecca Bingo, Club 3000 and a handful of other bingo clubs in the UK all pool together to offer big cash prizes – and real money prizes. The National Bingo Game is a popular one with as much as £50,000 up for grabs each afternoon and evening. Club 3000 made the world’s largest winner on a bingo game when a lucky player bagged a cool £1,167,795 when playing The National Game, going from a regular bingo player to an instant millionaire and not a progressive jackpot slot game in sight!
The story of Club 3000 Bingo began in 2006 when the first club opened in Coatbridge. A year later, two additional clubs opened in Glenrothes and Cardiff. By 2011, there were a total of 10 venues around the UK after buying 7 clubs from rival Buckingham Bingo…
… which meant Peterlee, Preston, Old Trafford, Middleton, Walkden and Huyton joined the other clubs in the Club 3000 Bingo group. In 2016, Stanley Park become the 13th bingo hall to join, but thanks to the recent deal between Rank and Club 3000, the total number of clubs in the group will soon reach 18.

There’s no real difference between the two clubs, so anyone who may be worrying about the switch over can put their minds at rest. The Mecca sign will be replaced naturally and the sign in cards will change – that’s about it.
