It’s a Full House for Club 3000’s Launch Night in Ellesmere Port

Ellesmere Port residents can breathe a sigh of relief as a brand-new bingo hall has just opened its doors! Locals were beginning to worry that the former Mecca Bingo hall would be used for residential purposes, but those worries were quashed when the brand-new Club 3000 Bingo hall opened for business on Friday night.

A total of 900 people signed a petition to persuade Mecca to stay, but the valued community asset which had been a place any had called home for 40-years, closed its doors. Devastated locals were surprised to learn that the operator had pledged £1.3 million for the renovation of the building, but construction was taking longer than expected and this led to worries of never being able to play bingo again.

MP Justin Madders was elated when news of the investment broke: “It’s really great to see this investment in our local area and I welcome Bingo 3000 to Ellesmere Port. I’m sure there are many looking forward to the opening in September and joining the Bingo community, which has been sorely missed by many players. I’m sure they will be impressed with the new facilities.”

After announcing they were pulling out of the area, Mecca Bingo players had a whole year to wait before feasting their eyes upon the newly revamped bingo hall and it was a full house on opening night. Featuring air conditioning, a vibrant arcade packed with the latest (and greatest) casino games, luxury seating areas, a bar and a food court where you can indulge in freshly cooked meals.

Tell Me More:

The new 750-seater building employs 35 staff to ensure the smooth running of bingo and there was barely an empty seat in the room on launch night, what with customers being treated to the very best bingo entertainment from a local magician who had his very own rabbit in the hat! Each member also received chocolates and bubbly for joining in the celebrations.

Brian Fraser, owner of Club 3000 opened the venue and said: “We are delighted to launch our newest club here at Ellesmere Port, the club demonstrates how we lead the way as a modern-day bingo operator. We welcome all our new customers to the Club 3000 family."

Kevin Boden, the general manager added his comments: “The opening was a fabulous evening the atmosphere was fantastic. I was thrilled to see so many customers at the event and would like to thank them for their support and my team who made it all happen on the night!"
